local area information

st florence

St Florence is a charming, peaceful, and historic village well-known for its picturesque cottages, built around the 12th century church (just behind Woodview Cottage). Visitors can enjoy a leisurely stroll around the village, taking in the beautiful scenery and soaking up the friendly atmosphere.

The village has two friendly pubs that both serve good food; the Sun Inn which is next door and the Parsonage a 100yrds up the road. St Florence also has a well-stocked shop, a garden centre with a lovely tearoom, Bramley’s (recommended for its home-cooked lunches and great cakes, booking is recommended at weekends), and a children’s playground.

beaches and attractions

The cottage is a short 10 minute drive to the seaside town of Tenby which has a good selection of local shops, bars and restaurants. Tenby, Manorbier, Saundersfoot and Penally beaches are all within 10-15 minutes drive.

There are several other unspoilt beaches within easy reach along the South Pembrokeshire coast.

It’s a fantastic location for visitor attractions including castles, boat trips, wildlife parks and theme parks.

Local Shops

St Florence has a well-stocked village shop, open 8am – 7pm everyday (at the bottom of the village next to the Ritec river).

For supermarkets there is a Coop in Kilgetty and a medium sized Sainsbury’s in Tenby. Pembroke Dock has a Tesco, Asda, Aldi and Lidl.

The Dingle Shack on the edge of the village (SA70 8NU) is a mini farm shop with an honesty box selling vegetables, eggs, homemade jams, chutney and sometimes cakes.

Bubbleton Farm shop and café near Penally is a good place to try local produce.
